Have you ever moved into a rental and it wasn’t your style like AT ALL? As a serial renter because of my husband’s job in the military, I’ve felt like that on MORE than one occasion. The fixtures are either VERY “builder grade” or from a different decade. Sometimes it’s so hard to see all the beautiful homes on instagram (you can come hang out with me there too!) and all the gorgeous fixtures and details people are able to add to their space! It’s so easy to start comparing your house to those amazing homes! But girl, those thoughts won’t get you anywhere and comparison is the thief of joy. I don’t know about you but I’m going to be happy with where I am, embrace what I’ve got, and make it amazing! I mean, That’s what this blog is all about! Sometimes the best ideas come out of solving problems! Right?!
Speaking of ideas, just the other week when I was staring at our “blah” light fixtures, I had this idea pop into my head! What if I covered up my light fixture with tape?! In our first home we bought, we had the schoolhouse light fixture style and I really loved it! I definitely knew I could recreate that with my own spin on it.
