I am making myself wear shorts this summer. I know it sounds silly, but when you are a pear shape body type, petite (I’m 5’2), AND have bigger thighs, finding jean shorts that you feel confident in is a bit of a hassell. It almost always ends with shorts that are too cheeky, a huge gap in the waist, and frustration.
I used to hate wearing shorts because I didn’t like how I looked in them and I gave up trying to find ones that actually fit my thicker thighs. It didn’t matter how hot it was outside. I would’ve rather
than wear shorts.
BUT life is waaaay too short (no pun intended!) for being afraid to wear a pair of shorts, right?!
I found 3 really great affordable options that fit pretty darn well and I’m excited to share them with you! For reference, I’m currently a size 8.
3 Affordable Jean Shorts for Bigger Thighs:
(These were true to size) There was no gap in the waist, no booty exposed, and these had a little stretch to them. I felt like these kinda held me in which was nice!
(I had to size down one size) These were the most comfortable out of all the shorts I tried! There was no gap in the waist, no booty showing, and these had ALOT of stretch to them. This pair will definately be my go-to for anything that requires me to be a little more active.
(I had to size up one size) Don’t be fooled by the name, these weren’t that short! The cut is so flattering and elongated my legs. These were shorter in the front and longer in the back so there was no booty that was showing. Also, There was no gap in the waist and they had a little stretch too! Hands down, these were my favorite pair that I got.
I’m so excited to finally wear shorts that actually fit as the temperatures warm up here!

I hope that I gave you some great ideas on which shorts to purchase if you happen to have bigger thighs like yours truly.
If you do struggle with really disliking any part of your body (I know it’s hard not to), know that you are absolutely beautiful and wonderfully made. And as frustrating as it is to have trouble finding clothes that fit, how boring the world would be if we were all the exact same!
